Researchers have discovered an undocumented backdoor in a widely used Bluetooth chip from manufacturer Espressif Systems, potentially affecting over a billion devices. The backdoor allows attackers to gain remote access by exploiting a hidden command mode, posing a significant security risk to IoT devices, smart home products, and industrial systems. Espressif has acknowledged the issue and is working on a firmware update to mitigate the threat.
